Oscar, a distinguished Durham University alumnus, specialised in Chinese Studies, graduated top of his class, and furthered his education at Peking University. Currently, he balances his Master’s SQE studies at BPP University, supported by BPP’s Career Commitment Scholarship, with his role as a paralegal at Jackson Lyon LLP.

Proficient in both English and Mandarin, Oscar actively participates in advocacy and pro bono work within the British Chinese community. His university leadership included directing a national Student Union, fostering relationships between the British government and Chinese-speaking students. He also founded the UK’s largest student-led Chinese-language Film Festival with the support from the British and Chinese Governments.

His pro bono work spans Employment Law, Landlord/Tenant disputes, and Human Rights Law, showcasing his dedication to addressing key concerns of the British Chinese community.

Offering a diverse and international perspective to his work, Oscar has gained valuable experiences leading and collaborating with teams across multiple cultures, languages, and disciplines. His professional portfolio spans law, aviation, and business consulting. Prior to his tenure at Jackson Lyon LLP, Oscar interned at HFW in Hong Kong, adeptly handling insurance, arbitration, professional negligence, and insolvency matters. His unique blend of skills and experiences positions him well to add significant value to any team or project.

In his spare time, Oscar is passionate about sports, photography, and cooking.
